Tube Rolling | Luxman CL-38uc

Hey guys!

Was wondering if I could get your advise about tube rolling on a Luxman CL-38uc.
http://www.luxman.com/product/detail.php?id=27

I’m trying to avoid having to change all Tubes (I want to change them for NOS Tubes).

Since I won’t be using Phono or Tone Controls.
I will just be using the Balance Line In and Line 1/2 Out.

From what I can tell from the schematic (see below) I only would need to change the ones enclosed in green.

Here are the schematics for the CL-38uc Pre-Amp per Luxman: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pzkwm9U4JIDqbYN-KUmwtvVAFiipUlOG/view?usp=share_link

My questions

- Is my assumption accurate? Or do I need to change other ones?

- Can I use other type of tubes in place of the 12AU/ECC82?
For example I have plenty of ECC83s/12AX7 If so, is there any precautions I need to be aware of?

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks!

From the illustration and description of @acefactory above, my understanding is that tube 7 is the balanced input, but is input 1 tube 2 or tube 6?

I would stick with 12AU7.   It was voiced with those and they are easier to find  NOS .  And usually cheaper than same vintage nos 12ax7....

RCA 12au7 from the late 50's / early 60's is what I used in my last preamp and they sounded great and measured super strong .

I'm going to bump this thread up as I'm looking for some new tubes.

I actually want easy on the ear & forgiving of bad recordings types

I see a few responses here and it seems to be the biggest thread I can find on this model pre

I ended up with Genalex Gold Lion 12AU7 for all the input tubes. Sounded the absolute best of all the ones I tried. Smooth yet detailed, superb depth and width.
