J Geils Band "Blow Your Face Out" ....just put it through a looong, sloooow deeep US clean. Won’t win any awards for sonics but is nice and quiet. The memories?....Ahhhh!
I think the last time I heard it was on an 8 track in my customized van in my teen years.
|
Started out with sides a & b of Melody Gardots Live In Europe then Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassas Black Coffee album then The New York Dolls Live From Royal Festival Hall 2004 and finished up with Isaac Hayes Black Moses. Damn I was all over the place.
|
Randy Newman/Good Ole Boys
|
Good one @tooblue. My favorite album of Randy's, then his debut. He was great until he went Rock, and hired Toto to be his band. Ugh. |
@bdp24, agree with your comment and would follow up with Little Criminals third. |
Peter Wolf/Midnight Souvenirs and Iggy Pop/Soldier |
David Rawlings Machine "Poor David's Almanac"
Big Thief "Capacity"
|
J. Geils Band- remastered version, "Blow Your Face Out".
P.S I just noticed that Slaw just played this album too. The remastered CD is much better than the original.
ozzy |
The Notting Hillbillies "missing... presumed having a good time"
Mom's Apple Pie "S/T"
(lps)
|
|
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - "American Dream"
I'm loving it! I probably haven't listened to this record in 20 years. I'm listening and remembering why I bought it in the first place, long ago..........
|
Albert King "I Want to Get Funky" (Stax)
|
Had to clean and listen to "Moonflower" since it was talked about in another thread.
up next...
Santana "Supernatural" Buddy & Julie Miller "Written in Chalk"..this will make @bdp24 happy...
|
Just broke the shrink wrap on my brand new Joan Osborne "Songs of Bob Dylan". Here's hoping it will be up to her past standards!
|
Regarding "Written in Chalk"...was very turned on by Julie’s introduction of "Wild Thing"!.......
|
Had to flatten the Joan lp.....
up now,
The Watson Twins "Talking to You, Talking to Me".
I remember upon first hearing this lp (from 2010), I was unimpressed. No longer. You may remember them from their collaborations with Jenny Lewis. If you love female vocals, good song writing, great sonics...it's well worth checking out!
|
Climax Blues Band - "Gold Plated"
From my high school years. Still love it........
|
@reubent, Gold Plated is a great album. |
Warren Zevon/Trouble at Dancing School, Ozark Moutain Daredevills/Car Over The Lake Album, Joe Jackson/Live In New York, Summer In The City, Waylon Jennings/Dreaming My Dreams.
|
@tooblue - YES it is! Really enjoyed "Gold Plated" tonight. Haven'y listened to it in a year or so.
Based on your post, tomorrow night - "Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School". Another great one, released just after my high school years...... |
@reubent , thanks for getting what I was talking about, Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School is great.
|
i literally haven't listened to climax blues band in 30+ years, but was tweaked by the above to give 'em a listen--a few of their songs (rich man, couldn't get it right) are still insinuated in my brain, which i suppose is the sign of good music.
|
So, I'm listening to Warren Zevon's "Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School" (Thanks @tooblue ) and reading the credits in the liner notes. How's this list of musicians?
Credits to:
David Lindley Leland Skylar Rick Marotta Waddy Watchel Don Felder Jorge Calderon Jackson Browne Linda Ronstadt Joe Walsh Glenn Frey J.D. Souther Don Henley Ben Keith
And a co-writer credit to The Boss - Bruce Springsteen for "Jennie Needs a Shooter"
Not bad, not bad...........
|
Warren Zevon - "Excitable Boy"
Classic!
