Probably the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" and some Ben Webster classical jazz.
Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

The other night I pulled out a 1960 recording of Betty Carter. She just killed it. Wow. I ripped a track to mp3. Take a listen for yourself to her rendition of "What a Little Moonlight Can Do". Be sure to hang onto your seat. http://russbutton.com/tmp/What_A_Little_Moonlight_Can_Do_Betty_Carter.mp3 |
Hailstorm, Reaminate:EP The covers. The cover of Heart's "All I wanna do is make love to you" is worth a listen. https://youtu.be/WK2siEQsADk N |
astro58go, Yep! Got the sunburn to prove it. We didn’t play "moving in stereo". However, later we did listen to pre 80’s The Cars, S/T CD, indoors on my main system . Rory is one of my favorite guitarist. I have not heard the title you referd to above. But I have a lot of other Rory titles. I like all types, genres of music. And on occasion, I’ll have a "momentary laps of reason" and go rogue on some 80’s or big hair 80’s. Out by the pool again now. Currently playing, Steely Dan, Countdown to ecstasy. N |
radfrad, Montrose greatist hits! That might take a while! We're by the pool having a all 80's day. Its difficult to post when your hands are wet! Eagles, one of these nights Corey Hart, I wear my sunglasses at night Foreigner, Jukebox Hero Duran Duran, Hungry Like the Wolf Ah Ha, Take me on Huey Lewis and the News, I Want a New Drug Billy Joel, Captain Jack Steve Miller Band, Greatest Hits REO Speedwagon, various ELO- various CCR- various Eddie Money - give me some water! KC and the sunshine band Flock of Seagulls I ran Toto, Hold the line Rick Springfield, Jessie's Girl And the hits keep on coming! N |
Greg Kihn Band, "The breakup song". They just don't write 'em like that anymore. https://youtu.be/VLFfSDEA26o Gary Wright, " Our love is alive". UFO, " On with the action". https://youtu.be/CWHjSwcr5lE N |
Another guitar hero. Still one of my favorites. Tommy Bolin, "Cookoo". https://youtu.be/Ih5Hp1so14Y Tommy Bolin, "Post Toastee". https://youtu.be/5DBzlLWGHtE N |
astro58, Listened to Grace Potter. I need to get CD. It should be a very good recording. "The lion the beast the beat" is excellent has good drive. "Stars" is a beatiful song, both versions. "Timekeeper" should sound amazing on disc. Sounded good on my headphones. "Roulette" is a keeper also. Great post. Danzig, "Mother". Haven't played that in a while! |
jafant, I agree 100% on your assessment of V/H. astro58, I love the Manfred mann media as well. I have several CD's but I first heard them on LP way back when. Great recordings!Also.. I will to put Grace P. on my to do list. I've only heard the Nocturnals. So we decided not to go to the Pat Travers event in Versailles, OH. To much of a trek. 5 hour round trip. So arcam88 just reminded me of this albumn: Pat Travers, Blues Magnet. Fantastic song called "This world we live in". Pat definitely belongs on our guitar hero thread. https://youtu.be/cEWSpFgJ8Tg N |
