Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile?

Many of you ask others to advise you, but the answer to so many questions is system dependent.  Why don’t you post your system on your profile prior to requesting help?

Well, you have to be smart enough to know what personal information to post and which one to not post. Also make sure that passwords are super strong. That is the main reason accounts get hacked, and not because of personal info. Your personal information is available on public domain. Do a check yourself.

Use something like PasswordSafe to store your passwords for different sites. But make sure that the Master password to PasswordSafe is at least 15 to 20 characters long with upper, lower case, special characters and numbers. PasswordSafe can also generate passwords for you that you don’t have to remember. Just double click when in the app and paste it in the site. When you exit out of the PasswordSafe, that password is not in memory anymore.

Duh. I do. As I said, it was a 3rd party business partner of my retirement fund that was hacked, which means not me personally. As for PasswordSafe or something like it, that was already recommended after the hack and I'm looking into them. My iMac automatically asks for stronger passwords and applies them to any and all sites that require one. With my new iMac, it's all done by fingerprint identification as well.

For anyone who thinks this is paranoia, I get a weekly tally from Safari that tells me how many attempts have been made to profile me and I watch the counter go up to the mid hundreds by weeks end, only to start all over the next week. It's a nice feature to have and a daily reminder that we're not in Kansas anymore.

All the best,
Nonoise

I don't want anybody else to steal my brilliant and unique style, and my ego doesn't require my showing off...obviously.

...and Kansas is likely po’d from being used as a point of negative reference after all this time....but, agreed....

The %adge of e/m and phone calls I receive daily that get dumped into the spam bucket or ignored seems to indicate hiring a Dutch dyke with big digits....

@wolf_garcia ....*G*  ...nobody wants my style....no one with any obvious rationality, anyway....but, point made & taken.... ;)
