XDAC Power Surge Problenm

I'm looking for help on a problem related to power and a Musical Fidelity X-DAC v3 product.

When I turn on/off major appliances (oven, dishwasher), the X-DAC cuts out for a second. The X-DAC is connected to a PC and serves music into a pream and power amplifier.

I assume this is some kind of grounding or surge problem with the wiring in my house (which is only 5 years old), but I'm not sure how to tackle the problem. Do I get an electrician to check the wiring or should I purchase some kind of power management product to somehow stabilize power going into the XDAC.

Interestingly, if I bypass the XDAC and just take the signal off the sound card in the PC, there is no problem, but as you might expect the quality of the signal is much lower.

Thanks for any help.
