Laltik, That makes sense. So if I wanted the third unfold I'd need to either run analog single ended out from the Node or get a DAC that can do it. Thing is, it sounds great at 96kHz.

Yet Another MQA Unfolding Question
I almost hate to ask as this stuff is asked so often.
I'm running Tidal to Bluesound Node 2i to a DAC. When I change in my NAD M51 DAC, which I understand not to be able to render the final fold in MQA, the NAD M51 reads 96khz on its display with MQA files.
I thought that the NAD M51 would only read 48khz if it cannot do the final unfold of MQA?
What can the experts tell me here? I thank you kindly in advance!
