Any Audiophile recording of The Planets?

I have Holst/The Planets by DG (Karajan) very good music but not so good sound (early digital recording) Any suggestion for the best sound of The Planets ?

Well-- I personally find, on many pieces, the first one I like, and get used to, is my reference.---Venus by Previn has no equal. While I can enjoy an audiophile version, it's regular version I go back to. I think Previn is the 80s/90s Riner.
Either TAS or Stereophile did an article on this about 1 or 2 years ago. They picked the best Planets CD based on sound and performance. I will report back (after work) when I locate it. BTW I could not find what they recommended locally but worth a look for you.
Harry Pearson, in his acerbic way, reviewed a "Planets" recording years ago and made the comment: "Needed another planet - Alky Alkaseltzer, the bringer of relief". Sure miss those days.
Sonically the Mehta/LAPO on Decca is generally thought to be one of the best, particularly on vinyl--it's been on the TAS list for years. I think it's good, not great interpretively. I like the Previn, but could live without the Susskind (that's the new MSFL SACD mentioned earlier, not the best they could have chosen). The Dutoit is also very good, though a little too restrained for me. Come to think of it, I still haven't heard one that I really think stands out as the best or exceptional, though I will note that this piece seems well-suited for Decca's recording techniques, as the best sounding ones I've heard seem to be Deccas (Mehta, Dutoit, Solti's UHQR on MFSL label). I'll be following this thread for other recommendations.
