Power Amp Tweaking

HELLO, ANY SIGNIFICANCE TO ADDING GRANITE WITH CONES UNDER POWER AMP? MY AMP, IS ON THE CARPETED FLOOR RIGHT NOW. WILL I NOTICE A SONIC IMPROVEMENT CUTTING DOWN ON FLOOR NOISE? VIBRATION, ETC. WHAT DO YOU THINK.

IMHO you do not want to remove vibration by coupling the amp to the floor, you want to remove the vibrtaion by letting the amp float. I have put plastic cups under the legs on my amp stand screwing them in where the spikes were and then I put raquet balls under the cups and it worked great. MHO.
Get a good amp stand and cones. I also use a Bright Star sand box under mine. Sounds great.
I agree w/above posts. Controlling vibrations in your amp should tighten up bass and thus also improve mid-range clarity. There are many ways of going about it, you just have to find what works for you. I have my SS amp, that has sorbothane feet, on a 2.5" thick maple board which is on cork/rubber footers which sits on a cone point shelf. Cheers. Craig
