1) Like Zd542 says, never let anyone do the thinking for you. You might like the Krell/Zu combo. Even though Zu speakers are very sensitive and do well with low powered amplifiers, they work well with a wide range of amplifiers and tend to transmit the characteristics of the amplifier rather than hiding them.
2) There is an Audio Refinement integrated amp (pre-owned, of course). I have used this in two systems and liked it a lot. If you do not like the Krell/Zu combo, you might find the AudioRefinement/Zu combo to your liking.
