I am somewhat amazed that there is no thread dealing with Star Sound Tech's devices
I have their Rhythm platforms and rack, their new 2.5" Audio Points (2.5AP-1AINT, and new self-holding coupling cups (APCD4-Invert). All of them are great improvements in my system. There are certainly other contributing factors, but if you want realism in the hologram before you, all of these are worth considering. Each is superior to its predecessor still among the Star Sound products. I have done this comparison in all cases and each is quite a good deal better. I am where I never thought reproduced music would never allow me. I must say that what I am hearing is really the sound perspective of the microphones, not of the good seat audience. Maybe the conductor has always heard what I'm hearing but I have had perfect seats in Chicago Orchestra Hall and have not heard. I have spent more on these items than I have on those seats each concert but these are enduring.
If realism, not just music, is your pursuit, I would strongly suggest you try them. I am hearing great performances and totally thrilled.
sbank, I had heard about Sistrum and even seen this on the Star Sound webpage, but there was long hiatus in this company. Now they seem to be on quite a roll.
I am shocked as I said about so little comment about the Rhythm platforms and racks, as well as the evolution of Audio Points and coupling cups.
I own 5 Apprentice platforms and 4 Rhythm. I am now ordering a 5th Rhythm. I have used many famous racks and built some of my own in the preceding decades but none used the Star Sound method and none sounded nearly as wonderful. The musical tone that fills the room, the shockingly real soundstage they produce, the silence that brings forth micro information, the brilliant effect at high volume... all blow away the competition. The new 2.5" points and the new inverted dics' are on my list of must have items also. Enjoy the music D
