Internet music sellers

Anyone notice that the usual Audiophile sellers on the net have raised their

list prices and then discounted them. So to increase sales they have an eternal

sale going on to keep the volume up the only problem is there is no real sale price.

My complaint with them is TRUST and not feeling being taken advantage of.

I have many times asked sellers how is the sound quality of that particular release

and they always say it sounds great until it's delivered and I put it on my TT to

find out that the sound quality is not that great for $30-$50 (or more) record.

When I can buy a RVG remastered Blue Note cd for under $10 from a Amazon

sub dealer delivered that sound almost as good as a Music Matters vinyl for $40

you have to think about what's more important the music or the sound for the

difference in $30!!.

I agree with you ! , but the cost is a significant difference.

So when it is one of my favorite recordings I do feel it

is worth it.

Let me say it's MoFis which I have buying since the late 70's

are the most inconsistent of all labels and when they started

to do CDs they were the worst of the worst. I have recently

purchased a few MoFi vinyl's and have been  disappointed

and some were highly reviewed for sound quality by you

know who. (The vinyl crusader of the human race).

Check out CD Japan if you want the best sounding digital. Shipping is fast and prices are fair. They also have vinyl and many miscellaneous items.

I stopped buying record reissues, period. Originals in excellent condition are often more expensive but worth it, I simply buy less.
Every Japanese original or reissue CD I have with the exception of one sounds better than any other. That exception is Mo-Fi  Inner Mounting Flame by Mahavishnu Orchestra which sounds best. I believe the discs were made in Japan too, though.

@dayglow  ...do you have any experience with SHD-CD's?  Are they better than regular CD's.  Thank you for the recommendation, I did check the website, good selection and shipping is reasonable too.

I like both SHM-CD and SHM-SACD. To my ears they are better in resolution, if this is your thing?  Plenty of catalog on both formats.
