Emotiva XPA-5 or 5 XPA-1's

What is is the size of your room? Also what are the speakers you are you going to use with your prospective amps? That would help members here give you an assessment. I think though 5 XPA-1s is kind of cool but complete overkill. From what I've read in the Emotiva lounge a lot of users get good results with the XPA-5. I think it is their best selling amp. I have an Emotiva UPA-7 and it works great in my HT set-up but my speakers are all pretty easy to drive.

Emotiva amops are good however I dont like the mix with Classe amps. The voltage gain on your Classe is 29, On Emotiva its 32. That means at the same volume level The Emotivas will sound louder and you will have to play tricks with your calibration. I had purchased an Emotiva mono to run my center and after a few weeks I was wondering why the Center seemed to be dominating the HT system. That lead me to check the voltage gain spec on the Emotiva.

XPA-5 is a beast. Cant imagine needing more. I run 5 full range speakers all around with dual 15" drivers in them, and the XPA 5 never even flinches.
