Panasonic th-50px60u plasma -vs- Sony kds-r50xbr1?

Hello,
First,
I do not want to start another argument on here.
Second, I have been reading with great interest about the new Panasonic TH-50PX60U 50" plasma tv that claims a 10,000 to 1 contrast ratio, 28.99 billion diplayable colors, 2 sets of HDMI and component video inputs, significant improvements over the TH-50PX50U, etc.
It is still a 1366 x 768 set.
I have never saw the picture on the Panasonic before.
I am basically stuck between choosing this Panasonic plasma tv and the Sony KDS-R50XBR1 or the Sony KDS-R60XBR1 SXRD RPTV's. The Sonys are 1080 x 1920 sets.
Does anyone own or has saw the picture on the new Panasonic TH-50PX60U yet?
If so, give me details.
Has anyone compared it to the Sony KDS-R50 or 60 XBR SXRD sets yet?
If so, how do they compare on HD material?
Which is better for standard definition such as digital satellite and dvd, etc?
Which would you most recommend?
Any answers and comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I really like the Sony. However, the Panasonic plasma would be my choice of plasmas. The Panasonics seem to give the best picture for the price. Unfortunately I have seen neither in standard definition, but both excel in HD.
I would suggest visiting avsforum.com which is a very active forum particularly on the displays you mention.
If price is of no concern the plasma units are the best. Be prepaired to replace it in the next 5-7 years however as the contrast will degrade over time as true with all plasmas. I have a sony XBR 60 when they first came out and now my tv looks much better than my neighbors plasma unit of the same age, even he says so, and its only 5 years old. The veiwing angle on the sony is not as nice as his plasma but mine seems brighter in ordinary viewing, with a non darkened room.
