Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?

Hi,

I'd love to hear the impressions of people who've actually spent some time with these speakers to share their sense of their plusses and minuses. Mapman here on Audiogon is a big fan, and has shared lots on them, but I'm wondering who else might be familiar with them.

What I see in the mirror in the AM I don't recognize anymore....*L*  Kinda 'sets the stage' for the balance of the day....;)

Pogo was Right...dammit....

Jerry you are one interesting dude......:)

One thing that I found on a lot of good sounding speakers, was a
type of ribbon or another. And the best sounding speaker I saw was this no name monster built by High Fidelity Cables, tons of drivers and the sweetest tweeter (ribbon) driver that looked like a Raal driver
and a 5" midrange CF cone. The weird thing was that it was sheet metal open baffle unit....friggin fantastic, but I think they had at least $100k worth of front end equipment and these cables with an in-line attachment looking like a chromed heat seeking missile.

The Mytek Brooklyn is such a cute and attractive unit, but it was only hooked up to headphones and I don't do headphones so I couldn't honestly give an honest take on the quality of the sound.

There was no way to sit down and listen to a specific amp so I'll going to have to go by what's recommended by my friends in the business.

I walked in to this room with ESS speakers and drivers, very interesting and I got to talk to one of the guys from the factory.
I was invited to the factory here in SoCal. I would love to sit down and listen to the units with my music, no people talking. They come in three sizes and the price ain't bad at about $320 no matter the size. Just another possible tweeter solution and the units X-over at 800hz and it's a dipole.

Worst sounding room was a set a Wilsons.......Soooo bad and depressing sounding I lasted maybe 60 seconds as I felt so bad for the guy.
Down stairs was a Killer Atmos theater with over 20 speakers a big
laser projector with a 160" screen. My buddy Paul  happened to
rep most of the equipment in the room. It was amazing if I heard it lol
I got busy chatting with Paul about life etc. and before I knew it they closed down for the evening...crap

Other speakers: Magico s3 Sounded good not my cup of tea
Focal Soprano sounded very very nice, with a nice tight bass.

Cables, what can you say, there's more attractive snakes than in the Amazon jungle. It's more jewelry then anything else I would say,
but they do make a difference and if you do your due diligence
you should be able to find something great for less then $10,000

I'm watching some Indy racing so ta ta........🇸🇪

'Interesting' is being very kind, and I'll thank you. *S*  Most likely think 'deranged' or 'troll', but the Truth (imaginary or other) is actually pretty simple. ;)
Glad you liked ESS.  I used to own a pair of AMT 1C's which sure looked a lot like their 'Classic' current and had the same driver set.  I still own a pair of the larger tweets....nothing quite like them, IMHO...
Pity you and Paul got into 'bench racing'...fun as it may be, time seems to leak away faster when other things beckon.
When I go to shows, it's like a 'search & destroy mission'....

"Sucks....BS....More of Same.....MS....MS....Hmmm, NO....*pause*That......sucks....ms....*etc.*"

I go for what's gotten my attention, but I'm still stingy with it.  You get it if I take off the muffs.  Reps tend to look surprised that I'm wearing them in their space....more when I don't remove them...;)

A good looking chassis should be female.  All else is just decor. *L*
Peter, it sounds like you had a good time at the show, sorry I missed going.
