Personal speaker evolution

OK, so here is a thread I haven't ever seen here: What speakers have you owned? starting with the earliest, price paid, new/used, and perhaps the models that really impressed you (for the price) in CAPS.

Rat Shack Something or others, $120, new
Fisher Something or others, $280, new
ADS L710's, $550, new
Snell A2i's, $1100, used
BEVERIDGE SYSTEM 3'S, $1000, used
Martin Logan CLS, $1400, used
MARTIN LOGAN SL3'S, $2300, used
pmwoodward
ESS Tempest 8- ~$170
Infinity Qa-~200 (used)
Dahquist DQM-7 monitor ~400
PARADIGM 3 MINI MK II~$250
B&W SM520 (They sucked)~?
Paradigm 7se Mk III~ $500
PARADIGM REFERENCE STUDIO 60 v2-~1300

I didn't realize I've gone through as many speakers as I have. Oh well, what a long strange trip its been.
Altec-Lansing Model 12?, Legacy 2+, Legacy 1's, Legacy Classics, Vienna Acoustic Beethovens.
1977-Infinity Qa (parents using them now, still sound great)
1984-ADS L1290 (destined for the basement system after remodeling)
2001-Soliloquy 6.5

Bought them all new. It took a long time to beat the ADS's but the Soliloquys finally did it.
Starting in 1978 (so this is a long list):

Infinity Quantum 3
Infinity RS 2.5
B&W DM7 Mk II
Thiel CS 3
Thiel CS 3.5
Sota Panorama (later added bass extension modules)
Avalon Eclipse
Sonus Faber Extrema
Acoustic Energy AE2 Signature
Avalon Eidolon
Well it started with that Zenith Console my folks bought in the early 60's. That was a great sounding unit until it got done in by a lightning hit. Never could get it right after that. To the best of my recollection here is the list

Lafayette speakers (67-68)
Dynaco A-25 (69-71) 25.00 each, I believe
Bose 501 (71-76) 350.00 pr.
Sansui (76-84) walnut veneered with the diamond patterned wood grille covers.
Fanfare Accoustics Tempo (84-86) 339.00 pair direct
Fanfare Accoustics Prelude (85-present) 2 pair for surround set-up which I don't currently use
Vandersteen 2C (86-97) 1025.00 pair (long term musical satisfaction)
NHT 2.5i (97-2000) 950.00 pair new
Merlin VSM-SE (2000) 2850.00 used
MERLIN VSM-M 2001-Present

I don't expect this list to grow in the forseeable future.
