New CDP or standalone DAC...?

Not sure what your budget is, but when I was in your situation I was advised to get a DAC. For the money you will spend on a CDP, you can use it to get a better DAC than what you could get onboard.

So get a decent  DAC and use the Oppo as a transport. 

By all accounts your Oppo is very good. So what are you looking for and can you describe the rest if your gear?

The Oppo makes for a fine transport.  Get a good DAC.

What I'm looking for is...a little more air, bloom, texture, delicacy, realistic timbre and tone, imaging, soundstage dimensions, etc. Typical audiophile wish-list, LOL!
