Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

...we know this music!

Always been a sucker for I’m Your Captain/Closer To Home, too.

Didn’t care for them much once they started having those Top 40 radio hits (e.g., We’re An American Band, Some Kind of Wonderful, LocoMotion...gimme a break).

Not saying they were defining for me.  That would have to be Beatles and Stones.
Stanley Clarke, self-titled, from 1974.  Been getting into a bunch of '70's fusion lately esp. RTF and Billy Cobham.
@ ghosthouse,

I understand your post. I haven’t listened to the (Live Album) for quite some time. It brought back a lot of good memories. In fact, it did not have the overplayed radio hits that most may associate with the band in their studio form.

I believe, I’m like you, in that the radio hits were not the bands’ best, or even their more enduring output. Why not, "Black Licorice" off of We’re an American Band. A stand out for sure that never really made the radio.

I believe my favorite studio lp they produced is "Phoenix", which may be one of their lesser known lps? I still think of them as a great band that never received the recognition that they should have.

Cheers!
