Turntable Set-Up

Hi
I am wondering if anyone can suggest a person in the Portland Oregon area to set-up turntables? Looking for someone who can work on both Gimbal and Unipivot style arms...and hopefully would do it on site.
Many thanks for any suggestions!

@rwanda---Unfortunately no. I visited Echo Audio, Fred’s House Of Sound, Pearl Audio Video, and Stereotypes, and was thoroughly unimpressed. I admit to having been spoiled from living in SoCal for thirty five years, with access to Brooks and Brian Berdan and a few other world-class analog experts, but was still surprised by the low level of technical competency to be found in the Hi-Fi shops in the Portland area.

With what arms and table do you need help? I’ve had a couple of unipivots (Decca, Formula 4), a number of gimbaled (SME, Rega, Thorens, AR, etc.), and the unique Well Tempered arm.

Send Audiogon member folkfreak a pm---he’s been in Portland a few years, and has an incredible table with multiple arms. I believe he does his own set up, but may know someone who will come to your home.

Go to Vinyl Engine and obtain all the information and tools you need to learn and do it right yourself. Free your self from the chains of dependency.
Good advice from raymondo. I watched Brooks and Brian Berdan install, align, and test table/arm/cartridge set ups for years, but have always done my own. It's not brain surgery! You just have to know a few principles, have the right tools, good light, and not be in a hurry. Get Michael Fremer's DVD, he covers everything.
