RIP Dave Wilson

Thank you for pushing the envelope,
Thank you for not leaving well enough alone!

Whether you are a fan or not of Wilson Audio speakers, the audio community lost a great designer this year.

Dave loved his profession and respected quality, refinement, authenticity and value. I’ll toast his passing with a fine French brandy and appreciate his passion for excellence with a product of like minded gentlemen. Value endures and I’m sure many of his well built products will continue to attest to his dedication well into the future.
condolences to his family.  He was surly a pioneer. Like his product for not, he was a trend setter and a master marketer.  He was able to build his label from scratch to a top name in all of audio.  I've only heard great things about the guy.  I met him on a few occasions and he was always a gentleman and educator.  He will be missed, but did the right thing in passing the business down a few years ago to Darrel who has them going in a positive direction still.  He will be missed by most in audio.

“Thank you David Wilson for making your speakers so expensive that only the 1% can afford them!”
”My apologies for my remarks....”

WOW I guess I’ve come up
in a different era. There is really no way to apologize for that remark.

RIP Dave Wilson I think?? is a thread to pay respects to a man who dedicated a big part of his life to audio.

Hey guys, we can all jump on someone who made an inappropriate, rude, or controversial comment.  I totally agree that people should behave in a civilized manner on the forums, and many do not.  However, the man who made the comment in question did add a thoughtful apology / retraction.  I think that is sufficient to cut him some slack.  Most people would not even do that, so I applaud the sincerity and the correction of a mistake.  Now if the rest of the forum using public would follow suit!  Anyway, no reason to pick on him further and distract from the topic of this thread.
