Vienna speakers need to be driven stoutly by high power amp with high damping factors. . . there seems to be a very natural synergy between Vienna speakers and Jeff Rowland (JRDG) switching amplifiers. As you are already using an integrated, I suggest you look at the JRDG Continuum 500. . . it will give your Beethovens all the power, control, and finesse that they are capable of. C500 contains the same amplifier boards found in the JRDG 501 monos, plus a Capri preamplifier board, plus a 1500W power factor correction circuit that converts the AC into DC before feeding it to the power supply, + a bank of bulk capacitors in the output to yield additional authority. DCStep can give details about the C500 sound, as he uses it with the Vienna Baby Grands. I use a 312 power amp on Vienna Mahlers and I am staggered by the synergistic performance of the combination.
