Great old speakers that are as good as new ones

I have some psb stratus golds now and i really like them but they are pretty old now. Still sound great though. What are the best speakers have you owned or heard that are old like my golds that are reasonably priced today. Im thinking under 1500. thanx for any info. Kevin

Had the Dahlquest DQ-10's, they needed to be played loudly. Loved the Gallo Ref-2's. Nesterovic 5's are hard to beat.

Snell Acoustics Type AIIIi. I had them for 20 years, until I replaced them with Snell XA Ref towers. They are one of the classic all time great speakers, and a good used pair can be had for under $1,500. One would need to spend 10 times that to get anything comparable new today.

I have a pair of Snell TypeC/i that I picked up for free with rotted woofer surrounds and a detached woofer magnet. I fixed those problems and they now sound incredible! They are in my main system while I rebuild my Infinity crossovers.

The best speakers I've ever had however, are Infinity RSIIbs. As good as any new speaker I've ever heard.
