Need help please? How I can setup Krell HTS 7.1 working with OPPO BDP 105 ?

Hi ! I need help please? I try connecting my OPPO BDP 105 with Krell HTS with 7.1 analog coaxial cables for best audio result ( use OPPO as DAC and Krell as preamp ) but Krell doesn’t allow me when I select preamp function on Krell. Did I make some mistake in settings? Can you help me when exact settings on Krell HTS 7.1 and OPPO BDP 105 ? Thank you in advance for your help.

The 7.1 is a direct input, the Krell will only allow volume control, no surround modes or processing.  You have to go into the OPOs menu and make sure its set to output analog 7.1... make sure analog downmix is set to "off"

Use your players test tone menu to identify channels all work and then you set the speaker distance and trim level within the player...

Not sure if your Krell HTS is the same as my Showcase. If it is Go to Menu Configure Devices. Click go to Configure Audio. Click go to Analog. Go to Device select DVD. Scroll down go to Main Input and go to 7.1 input. Go back and choose Digital. Go to Digital input and scroll to Disabled. All set for 7.1 movies w/your Oppo.

I believe the HTS7.1 can only be use as a preamp for analog input only. If you’re connecting your oppo with digital input, the preamp will not work.
