Small speakers...big sound??

Hello

I'm looking for some suggestions please!! I'm running some vintage Goodmans Triaxioms which I really love...the sound is big, full, definitely not the last word in detail but I can sit and listen to them all day with zero ear fatigue :)

Now question...can I get the same sound from a bookshelf?? I do not like anything bright sounding but I want a full sound that can fill my room.

Unfortunately I might have to part with these beauties. Locally I can audition nothing so all I am going on is internet reviews. Here are some that "may" fit the bill:

Era D4 or D5
Usher 520
Von Schweickert VR1
Gersman X-1
Mordaunt Short Carnival 2
Epos ELS3
Others??

What am I missing and can anyone make suggeestions that would work for me??

Thanks kindly!!!

You have a good list of speakers to check out.

Also, consider Dali Helicon 300. Oversized carcase with big sound, ribbon-tweeter combo giving that extra depth with micro dynamics.
Thanks everyone!!

And yes...waf LOL!!!

I was thinking of a LS3/5A type but not sure whats out there...

One that was mentioned to me today was the Jungson DB2...anyone??
I have a new pair of Harbeth P3esr's. Can't believe a) how smooth and natural they sound and b) how big they sound. They compare very nicely with my Ellis 1801s which are a very large standmount and definately not bookshelf speakers in terms of sound. Seem to need a little power to bring out the big sound though.
Sideways,
Look into Omega's, Louis is a great guy who will custom make most of his speakers to fit his customers needs. Check out his site, forum, and give him a call. He is very busy and can get behind in email, if you call he usually picks up the phone or will answer a voice mail in about a day.
