I called Goal Zero and asked them a few questions regarding to the db rating of the fan, and output distortion. Here is their email response:
I was finally able to catch up with our engineers and they have informed us that the fans can get as loud as:
-45db at ½ a meter
The AC inverter has a distortion rating of less than 5%. Hopefully this is helpful! Let us know if you have any other questions on these.
Thanks for supporting Goal Zero!

Also after doing more research, it looks like this lithium-ion battery power supply might be a better option.
https://inergytek.com/products/apexIt’s lighter, it charges a whole lot quicker, 500 watt max input, it has six 120v outlets. From what I’ve heard and watched on YouTube videos, the fan is very quiet. Can also daisy chain more lithium batteries.
It’s also on sale right now, plus an extra 20% off using special code.
Total sale price is $1300.
