good stand speakers with good low end

I like to keep the purchase under $1,000 a pair. Just curious if anyone has suggestions for good sounding bookshelfs with good low end. I live in condo, so floorstanders are not possible at the moment. NHT classic 3's come up a lot. Klipsh are way too bright for my tastes. I lean toward neutral to warm sound.

Do you actually intend to put the speakers in a bookshelf? If not, floorstanders take up no more room than standmounts. About 1 square foot of floor space. If you do want monitors in your price range, check out Fritzspeakers. High-quality stuff at reasonable prices. I also think Axiom makes some nice stuff for the money. I wouldn't consider either of them "bright", but that's only my opinion.
A lot of stand mount speakers have better bass if u take them off the stand and put them on the floor with the back of the speaker 1 or 2 feet from the back wall. I thint u will be happy with the sound whichever speaker u choose. Try it and see if what I say is true. Shay
Here are a few with great low end around the $1k mark:

Dynaudio DM 2/8 - New

Monitor Audio RX2 - New

Dynaudio Excite X16 - Used

Totem Rainmaker - New or Used

PMC TB2i - Used
Chayro is correct concerning the space required for floorstand speakers. My system is in a small room where some people would insist on monitors. I rotate a pair floorstand speakers in and out with monitors. The towers actually take less space.
