From tubes back to SS?

As a SS guy thinking of getting into tubes, it made me wonder. Are there any audiophiles out there that went from tubes back to SS? I hear a lot about people going to tubes and never going back---but do some people say, nah...back to solid state. Just curious.

I tried a couple of times, but always found solid-state insufficient to my tastes.  Classical music has to be tubes, some people say jazz too but I don't listen to jazz.  Rock can be anything, it doesn't matter so much.
@mrearl I finally got a tube preamp and so far I'm loving the sound with the SS amp. There definitely was a difference once I switched out my integrated. I finally get the whole 'tube' thing.
Sort of.  Ran Manley Mahi Mahi mono blocks for years and they are terrific.  EL 84 is very quick with great bass control compared to many other tube designs.

Ran Merlin Black Magic monitors.  Then...... traded out Merlins for ATC SCM 40 which are tri-amped with AB solid state amplifiers.

Really, an apples and oranges thing, but the unbelievable control of quality SS matched with drivers and elimination of crossovers is the real thing.  All driven by a tube preamp.
I'm planning to check out a Schiit Aegir just from curiosity, and it's one fifth the cost of a Pass XA25 which was another amp I was interested in (still am). My little Dennis Had SEP is a great sounding amp but, again, curiosity, and I'll keep the Had amp anyway...I have 99db efficient speakers so I can use anything.
