Good Processor

I know this has been discussed before and have read most of the posts. However, I haven't seen one that addressed this question. For good stereo what is a better option? Going with an older high end pro like a meridian 861 version 2.8/4 or Halcro 100 OR buying a newer unit such as the Integra 80.2/3. If I purchased the Integra it would be easy to setup with little in cables given the HD audio formats. With the older units I would be processing HT in my Oppo and using the 5.1 output into the processor.

Jdub39, I have had the same experience with the 8801/dual subs using XT32/Pro. It does integrate the bass well.
'KR4'wenn you use two subwoofers with XT32/pro. Will in stereo mode the 2 subs be separated in right and left to support the right and left frontspeaker. Because Audessey did not anwswer this question yet. Because I was planning to use 2 Monitor Audio PLW-15 sub's for my Audessey pro demo soon for stereo mode.
Try Audessey Pro, you will be amazed how much better it is compared to XT32. I sld marantz for over 6 years. I like the brand, but it is still a 2-dimensional brand. Use speakers which can give a deep and wide stage. You will hear that there is not a lot of depth. Wenn you compare the Marantz 8801 witht the Onkyo PR-SC5509 there is a big difference in how the stage is build. Onkyo can make it wide and deep like the better highend can. With Marantz you never can achieve this.
1. The answer to your question about XT32/Pro is no. AFAIK,
the two sub outputs have the same signal and are not stereo.
This is the most common arrangement in prepros and has nothing
to do with Audyssey or AudysseyPro.

2. "I take it you never heard the 8801?" (Already
asked of you.) I was always luke warm about Marantz prepros
until now.
