Seems to be the general consensus that Musical Surroundings make some darn good phono stages for very little coin.

Uber, another great bang for the buck phono stage is the Parks Puffin.
Uber - Brother in law just got his Nova III, after breakin I am going to listen to it against the II in place of my yearly hearing test !!!
