Help me select an integrated amp for Thiel CS3.6 speakers
These 86db Thiel’s are a hard load and deserve amps that can almost keep doubling their 8ohm wattage’s to 4ohms and again to 2ohms to get the best out of them forget tube or class-d.
Suggest you look at Gryphon Diablo 120 or the bigger 300 and amp that can do what they do in wattage doubling, and remain comfortable all day at 2ohms loading
Stereophile tested results:
The loudspeaker is under 3 ohms through most of the range, dropping to a minimum of 2.3 ohms at 3.6kHz (the cursor position). The low impedance value explains the CS3.6’s need for the iron-fisted Mark Levinson No.23.5 to provide control in the bass.
