Whats on your turntable tonight?


For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO

That cd4 format was the reason the Shibata stylus was developed ages back.
While quad died an early death, fortunately the benefits of the Shibata ensured a long life.
It must be soft rock night at my place. Hall & Oates- Along the Red Ledge. 
Uber, I've read a lot of conflicting information about CD-4. You'll ruin the rear channel info if you use a stereo stylus, it's ok as long as you use fine line or shibata, it doesn't matter what stylus you use... confusing.  They play great with both my Denon DL-301 MK2 and my Kiseki Blue NS.

Yes a lot of misinformation out there, just about as bad as mono and stereo playback.

I do not own any quad discs so cannot comment on how well they may play on regular stylus.

If they play and sound good then surely that's all that matters.
