What amplifier should I get with Mag 3.6?

What preamp would you suggest as well. Thanks. Laurence

Last year, I sold my modified Aragon 3002 amp (300Wpc) to a fellow A'gon member to use driving his Maggies, and he is delighted with it. My 3002 was one of the newer models in the now discontinued line, but I suspect many of their amps would be a good match with Maggies. He said the Aragon just woke those Maggies right up.

Best of luck,
Dan
LDWORET please don`t believe the (HIPE) ARC has been in business over 40 years and thats telling and me hearing allot. there are many fly buy night companies puting out fly buy night amps, look what Dan had to do to get that Aragon to half way perform and then he dumped it. If you really want to hear an awakening you try the ARC line or Conrad Johnson you won`t go wrong.
I went through a few amps before I hit nirvana at my budget by accident. I had an Adcom GFA-5500 that I sent to Stan Warren to me modified and purchased a used Sunfire Stereo Amplifier to use until the Adcom came back. The Sunfire is wonderful with the Maggies, very smooth, grain free, but with tight powerful bass. When the Adcom GFA-5500 came back from Stan I tried running it for a while, but there was no comparison (the only thing the Adcom did better was a bit more bass slam, their hallmark).

For the $1000 for used Sunfire Stereo or $1500 for a signature, they are a really good combo with Maggies.
The Sunfire is a great suggestion. The fellow I purchased my Plinius amp from sold off two SA 100 MKIII's, and is now using a single Sunfire to power his Shahinian's. As far as the Aragon is concerned, the only reason for the sale is that I had changed loudspeakers from power-hungry Dynaudio Contour 5.4's to vintge Tannoys. I had been wanting to try tube amplification, and to that end, I sold the Aragon, and bought a VAC PA 35.35. The Aragon was not dumped, as was suggested by sheridan, I hated to see it go, it was, and is, a great sounding amp, which the current owner is more than happy with. I stand by my recommendation.

Dan
