Uber, I was surprised, too, by Sea Change (this was my first listen). Not what I was expecting, considering my experience with other Beck recordings. Perhaps repeated listening will reveal more nuance and lead me to appreciate Sea Change more, but the songs were not variegated with respect to style, approach or instrumentation.
Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Barco Negro --- Amália Rodrigues (Fado) For those that are interested in digging deeper: https://www.kcrw.com/music/articles/amalia-rodrigues-fado-classic-barco-negro |
Wow, I’m impressed at this cd! Just received a Japan blue speccd2 of Boston’s self titled debut! clean, open, crystal clear, bass, mid, treble, all spot on compared with my USA copy, it is a huge difference audibly. Sacd, ......um, I’ll buy these Japanese blue specd2 over any sacd. Brad Delp sounds amazing, I’m not a huge fan of the higher pitched singers, but man, he sounds stellar! im currently looking for the Lynyrd Skynyrd bluespecd2 issues. Their great! |
