Roon's update sounds really good

The Ethernet cable is [also] a big problem. It runs long and can pick up low-frequency noise which cannot be filtered out.

It’s balanced, twisted, shielded, ground isolated. If it wasn’t perfect most offices wouldn’t function.

I appreciate the insight. Is there a DAC that filters the WiFi signal well. I actually stream from Sonos over WiFi into a Emotiva DAC. It sounds really good to me. Later I would like to get into Roon or Tidal. 

Wireless works Just fine as long as there is sufficient bandwidth.

this looks like a good solution to remove any potential noise in an ethernet connected device. it essentially converts the ethernet signal to optical (which is noise free) and then back again to ethernet at the source.
