I made an exception for the First Watt B4, which was not offered in black. More recently, I made an exception for the EAR-Yoshino 868 pre-amp, available only with a chrome-plated faceplate (which is acceptable). BIB, baby.

It's something that enabled me to save a nice handful of cash when I pulled the trigger on a silver Mytek BB instead of a black one. It didn't hurt that, as for me personally, if there's an alternative to black in a component, I'll take it every time.
