power cord directionality

IF power cords do indeed have preferred directionality, and one is inadvertently flipped for a few hours, does it "harm"it?

jw944ts OP Details Discussions Posts This discussion Message User 325 posts 05-02-2020 at 05:40pm Copy Comment URL Report Comment Edit Delete ....and fabricator of cable clarified how it was just labeled backwards.....as it has Neutrik terminations, testing would reveal, due to the grounding at the power supply end, if it was backwards......thanks to all for some helpful, some not-so-helpful, but always OPINIONATED, answers.....I must admit I have learned some things on this site, both about equipment AND about personalities....
