Do both cables have to be the same length?

Subwoofer #1 requires a comfortable cable length of 8'.  Subwoofer #2 could 
easily be connected with a 6' cable. Should I make up a 8' cable for Sub #2 or 
does it matter? It could be either 6' or 8'

Any help would be appreciated.

Same length.
Plus, it helps with resale.

It's not an issue of timing, but can be an issue of impedance and voltage drop differences if the cables are very different lengths.

NO! As the French Chef says "No diffawrance" between 6ft and 8ft!

There's unlikely to be an audible difference, but I agree with the idea to consider resale value, and that in the future you may want those extra 2'.
