Room size for hi end speakers. Too small??

Room size is 16’ x 12’. Is this too small for a pair of 803 d3 b&w speakers?

I had to listen a little louder than I liked to get the B&Ws to open up. I now have Focal Kanta 3s & they sound way better at lower volume.
