Jazz for aficionados
Just like they grew cotton in Mississippi, they grew jazz musicians in our cities. I knew a few of them personally; while I idolized them, I had zero comprehension for how they did what they did. Now that our cities no longer exist, I have no idea where the next crop of new jazz musicians will be grown. Just like you can't grow cotton anywhere, you can't grow jazz musicians anywhere. Cities provided the right soil; concrete, bistros, and jazz lovers with money to spend. Now that we no longer have that combination available in many places we can not grow new jazz musicians. What are your thoughts? |
