The lovely Capriccio Continuo Admonitor 311's a real gem. Your thoughts?

Has anyone else had the experience of hearing the Capriccio Continuo Admonitor 311's? I purchased a pair with matching stands after having had the opportunity to demo a pair and they are a wonderful sounding pair for bookshelf speakers. I've always stayed away from bookshelf speakers thinking they can't compete with some floor standing speakers...I was taken aback how wonderful they sound and just how good the bass is for their size, and how beautiful they look. Italian speakers and excellent reviews.

I have them paired with a Klyne SK-5 preamp and Quicksilver V4 tube mono blocks. Finally I can relax and enjoy the music this system can provide.

Anyway, I couldn't contain my excitement for these speakers LOL and I wanted to share.

souljasmooth,
Yes, that's the name! Whatever happened to them? Beautiful looks, and ribbon tweeters as I recall.
Hi Fuzztone, it took me a while to get here and I am done for the time being. Winter is around the corner and I look forward to listening to music and discovering new music. The V4's were bought used but in very good condition and they came with KT88's. The sound is so airy, great low end and the treble just shines. I am not good with words and don't know all the audio lingo yet but I am very pleased. The monitors sell for about $5,900 CAD and the matching stands are rather expensive but they look best matched with their stands. Now I want and need to win the lottery so I can buy the sub monitors that replace the stands. I won't be buying them anytime soon as they cost about $20,000 CAD for the pair.

Roxy54, the drivers are ATD drivers and the midrange/subwoofer is based on or is a Zellaton sandwich driver? I've not read enough yet to be clear on that. Extremely fast drivers that, I guess, provide the clarity in the sound. I am shocked how tiny they are and I am not a fan of gloss black.

The Capriccio's had a version with the ribbon tweeters as well. The dealer who sold me the speakers felt that the version I was buying had a better high end.

Here is the review at 6moons.com. The speakers I bought have a gloss  black finish and the tweeter is different from the ones in the review.

wgs57,
I'm no expert on these things, but I'm sure that they're not by Zellaton, and I don't even think that they're trying to imitate them. These drivers have a distinctive curved flare whereas the Zellaton drivers go in a straight line from the center to the edge. These also have a different speckled appearance. I thing they're really striking, and I remember reviewers saying that they had amazing resolution.
The gentleman talked about Zellaton drivers but it might not have been in relation to the CC’s. My memory is not as good as it used to be lol. I thought there was a connection. I think they might have in common that they are sandwich drivers? Again, I should research before making a comment.
Nice looking little speaker. I like the option to add woofers down the line.
The problem is that at $6,000.00 a pair you can have a pair of Magnepan 3.7i's. Granted there is a huge size differential but...
Undoubtedly they are much more competitive price wise in Europe.
