ADD HINGES to existing removable DUST COVER

I have the two arm plinth CL-P2 now, may end up with the 3 arm CL-P3 plinth.

Dust cover is big, heavy, 1/4" thick, must remove it, place it  somewhere, back on each listening session, each time potential disaster, scuff marks will accumulate.

I am thinking of adding hinges, 3 probably, like this one has

Lift up/off hinges would be nice.

Please let me know if you see a CL-P3 plinth for sale.

I have to agree with noromance.  Continue to remove the dust cover when listening.   All the discussion about vibration control on many threads argues against it.
Agree the dust cover is a sonic nightmare. Good luck on your search - how could three tonearm be wrong !!!!!!!
Hi Elliott, I know where your coming from. My place is dusty as well. My solution is going to be to drape something over it as someone stated.
I'm not concerned about acoustic feedback as my tt is behind a short stubwall separating the living room from the dining room.
The main problem your going to have is finding hinges that will give enough support. The covers are heavy and front to back they are deep giving more leverage to make the lid want to close. It may take 4,5 or even 6 hinges to give you the support you need. Instead I would use two good hinges and build a nice prop rod like you would find on the original Pioneer PL-41 tt.
I assume you have been to Yahoo Japan, that will be the most likely place to find a 3 arm plinth but shipping is going to be expensive.

Dust cover when turntable is not in use, fine.Dust cover during LP play, no.Hinges for dust cover, no, no.  When it's off the turntable during its use, you want it OFF the turntable.
My opinion borne of experience, only.
Never play a turntable with dust cover on as its a static magnet. You don't really need hinges but this of course is up to you.Good luck.
