ADD HINGES to existing removable DUST COVER

I have the two arm plinth CL-P2 now, may end up with the 3 arm CL-P3 plinth.

Dust cover is big, heavy, 1/4" thick, must remove it, place it  somewhere, back on each listening session, each time potential disaster, scuff marks will accumulate.

I am thinking of adding hinges, 3 probably, like this one has

Lift up/off hinges would be nice.

Please let me know if you see a CL-P3 plinth for sale.

Never play a turntable with dust cover on as its a static magnet. You don't really need hinges but this of course is up to you.Good luck.
I've never had a problem playing with the dustcover on unless I'm blasting the music. At normal levels it adds nothing.

Yeah, bad idea, I didn't think it thru. I don't ever play with cover in place, never did.

I used to leave my smaller TT's dust cover up/open while playing, lift it fully off for real listening sessions. It was also about 7" lower than this one is.

This one, larger and starting higher would be HUGE looking when open, that's unacceptable.

Which of Lily Tomlin's characters said 'Never Mind'?

Good point Elliott. How about a system of pulleys so you can raise it straight up to the ceiling when your using the TT. Think the better half would approve? LOL
