I'm going to review records in my collection, and you'll be able to decide if they're worthy of your collection. These records are what I consider "must haves" for any jazz aficionado, and would be found in their collections. I wont review any record that's not on CD, nor will I review any record if the CD is markedly inferior. Fortunately, I only found 1 case where the CD was markedly inferior to the record.

Our first album is "Moanin" by Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers. We have Lee Morgan , trumpet; Benney Golson, tenor sax; Bobby Timmons, piano; Jymie merrit, bass; Art Blakey, drums.

The title tune "Moanin" is by Bobby Timmons, it conveys the emotion of the title like no other tune I've ever heard, even better than any words could ever convey. This music pictures a person whose down to his last nickel, and all he can do is "moan".

"Along Came Betty" is a tune by Benny Golson, it reminds me of a Betty I once knew. She was gorgeous with a jazzy personality, and she moved smooth and easy, just like this tune. Somebody find me a time machine! Maybe you knew a Betty.

While the rest of the music is just fine, those are my favorite tunes. Why don't you share your, "must have" jazz albums with us.

This is some of the music I was looking for; it's truly hypnotic, I can listen to the music without going into the religion, although the music is an intrinsic part of the religion. This is the real deal from Haiti.

Alex, I found a brand new record in my collection that you might like. The cover is like new and so is the inner sleeve, and the grooves look like they've never been played, although I must have purchased this record at least 40 years ago.

I quit playing records when CD came out, so some of the records I purchased at about that time got stashed in the closet and were never played.

Mary_jo, express yourself, why shouldn’t you enjoy looking at handsome men, I never tire of looking at beautiful women; just a little while ago, I wanted to pursue all women named "Ursula". (must have been that look of love thing)

Being a woman, it is expected from me to be enthusiastic about men but not about women. But I have no issues in showing the admiration towards good looking woman. If you appreciate beauty, you will like it in all shapes.

Men are not less interesting, only different. Usually it takes time with them to see what you sense at woman immediatelly due to man’s "stronger" look, "tough guy" appearance and similar.
In another words, I have to get to know a man, to admire one.
