Sorry for the misinformation jjss49. Basically something that sound good with across all frequency range. I understand there is other amp that sound better but he is more of a casual listener.

If your are giving this amp with speakers. Nice gift as long as the amp is compatible with the speakers. 

for everyday use by a not too serious listener using simple non exotic speakers needing basic amplification, the rotel will be perfectly fine
