Excessive Static

HELP! Bought a Technics 1200G turntable with VDH DDT2 Special, with VDH Grail SE, Distributer from Van Den Hul/  EMM Labs is here. He helped me get the table dialed in. His main focus was to bring me a pair of Emm Labs MTRX2s, they are simply AMAZING!!! The problem is with the TT, everything grounded, way too much static!! Its 7am and I'm wondering what the hell is going on?? Freaking out! Any input will be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

There are many threads on this subject. I highly recommend Gruv Glide. It will completely end your static problems. Some dislike spraying anything on their records and employ other methods, i.e., Zerostat, stop using your heat, get a humidifier, and others. Your choice.

And gum up your discs and stylus.
@jakesnak, stay tuned. An in depth report on the subject is coming.
Use anti static sleeves. Throw all the paper ones away. MoFi sells great sleeves. You have to short the record to ground. There are several ways to do this. I use a grounded sweep arm. You can get a record brush with conductive bristles. drill and tap a hole in the metal and wire the brush to ground. Just holding it is not good enough. Use it before and after you play the record. Never put a static loaded dirty record away. You contaminate the sleeve and perpetuate the problem.
Have you tried multiple records? I purchased the first King Crimson album at a T.H.E. show (from one of the big on-line vinyl retailers), paid premium price and this thing has built-in static. Unlistenable. I didn't discover (listen to the record) for months so un-returnable.
ALWAYS listen to vinyl ASAP after purchase.
