Lowering output from my CAL dac

I have the Cal Alpha and the hi output from the unit plays havoc with the gain on my Modulus preamp. I understand I can swap out a few resistors to get the output down. Can anyone advise me as to the correct values and also can I put a multimeter on the rca outs from the unit to read output voltage or will it short something out? Also can I measure the resistance on those resistors while they are still soldered to the board? Carl

The correct value, the how-to instructions and the resistors should have come with the dac as they did with mine.It is a matter of swapping one resistor only.Maybe some owners can share their resistors with you.I had Alpha for 5 years until it burned down.I threw away the manual with the resistors about a year ago. There are a lot of CAL dacs out there and i am sure you can get it all from one of the owners who does not need any adjustments.
I didn't realize your DAC was designed for this resistor swap. By all means do it as the manufacturer suggests.
