Thanks Kwb for your post. Anyone that had the opportunity to heard the Grands (not Studio or Mini, the Grand itself) ?

I purchased the Grand Diva brand new back around 1991. I had them triple amplified with Goldmund Mimesis 9s amps and Goldmund preamp. Neighbors just to show up at my door to repeatedly experience the 'Diva experience.' Running the Divas at night with the light real low was a fantastic, surreal, mind blowing experience. I kept the Grand Divas for about 20 years and then finally sold them to a very thankful buyer. They never lost any of their performance attributes through the years. The Grand Divas provided sonic nirvana. |
i used to drive them with an adcom and a counterpoint amp a adcom preamp....sold all to buy a house .Ever since i have tried to reproduce that same sound with much more costly electronics to no avail.Sorry to say nothing gets close to their reproduction of "MUSIC".I still hope someday i will find a pair to buy |
I'm not familiar with the Apogee model lineup but a dear friend of mine uses the Apogee Fullrange driven by gigantic sized Tube Research Labs amps, his system remains one of if not the most memorable audition I've had in the last 15 years. I've listened to many mega priced speakers at AXPONA and RMAF and they are not as memorable. Here's his system:https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/5104 His room is now bigger and more custom for the Apogees but he has not updated his system with new pictures. The old room is still very impressive and it's the one I remember most. |
