Schumann Resonator

I got 2 of these from Amazon...careful that free returns are applicable.  I charged them up, turned them on and holy moly.....they do help with my system.   What I hear is clarity....space between instruments, a definite difference in upright and electric bass, wider soundstage...you know...all the good stuff. At first I thought it might be increased brightness, but no....it is still the same in that regard.  I still can't believe it, and will listen again tomorrow (saved the packaging for the return)...but today, I'm about to keep them.

If they won’t come off 800.00 a pair, I might just find out.. ADJ Helmholtz resonators, thought to be PURE hog wash. UNTILL, the 80-90s. If you want to do things a little different..
Very interesting but like usual too costly for me...

I works for peanuts at peanuts cost only...

This is the bad news...

The good news is my grid of homemade Helmholtz devices now ranking to their final number of 21 pipes and tubes of size going to 8 feet for the higher one to the lenght of a straw for the little one, all together adjusted in neck by ear listenings but also with the ratio 1.6 between 3 sets of 3, are easy to fine tuned by ears...

Errors of fine tuning are compensated by the numbers of devices and their complementary simultaneous action on more than one frequncy and harmonics at once...My grid is not perfect for sure.... The improvement is perfect tough with me....

COSTS: peanuts

This device  so interestingit is  will act mainly on bass frequencies and i will need 4 at 800 bucks each...

My homemade grid is more powerful because the pipes i use are of different volumes and act not only on bass but on mid bass and high frequencies also...

Then i smile with an empty peanuts jar beside me....But i have the money to buy another one tough....
The link reminded me of the MB Quart vari vent. An external variable tunning vent for loudspeakers.

Hmmm. Makes me wonder if you could do the same thing with slot loading a ceiling rafter or 2 especially if the sound room is located below ground or in a basement. You could locate false ceiling registers in locations to alter pressure. You could add or remove insulation in the ceiling as measured.. Tom
To my ears the resonator sounds as if it adds space to a system that is already wall to wall. This added space seems to come with a higher degree of focus and detail and with a more stable image all across the wall. The image seemed wider more stable and made me feel more at ease and relaxed..not stuck to my chair with my head in a vice.

Yup. And the more you use, the more of this you get. I'm at 10 and thinking might try a few more.

Most all of these circuit boards have a tiny little trim pot. Probably fine-tunes the frequency, or but who knows? One of my fun projects, twist the trim pot and see if it makes any difference. Like these things aren't strange enough, tuning by ear.

Ted definitely figured out something along these lines, he has an app where you can adjust soundstage width and depth and other stuff from your iPad.

I have been using Audiopoint inverted couplers, the  APCD4s for several years and with proper placement and the right tensioning I can extend the soundstage down a couple of long walls..To tight =s too bright.. back the tension off a touch and there you are. Or I can focus the center stage.  If you want it wrong keep adding more and it can sound like stretched pseudo surround sound..your choice you may like that sound. These can be threaded into mounted panels or use brass threaded inserts into materials and then thread the coupler and tune to your delight..Look at the overall shape and the center is inverted and will capture, focus and disperse energy or with another of our devices ground the resonant energy. Brass is the metal of music and Geometric shapes matter.
This method of usage with this specific product is something I have adapted for my own use.  I am a company member.   http://starsoundtechnologies.com/productsDetail.php?APCD4-Invert-38

Interesting...

I created a cheap version of this already with connected by cable  brass chinese bowls  that help soundstage and focus...

But this product is certainly better and not too costly thanks...
