I recently bought a Karajan conducted Beethoven Violin Concerto with Christian Ferras.   It’s big and full like a symphony

I’ve seen that album, but never heard it. Thanks for the heads up.

Just finished that box set, complete. Quite nice. Odd 6LP box set pressed in Italy, but there is even a larger box set of the ‘same’, but contains even more in a 12 LP box I believe. Karajan brings a lot of, ummm....’energy’ to his conducting, and it was well on display in all the symphonies in that set. I was in the mood for it, and enjoyed every one of them. All sounded excellent in regards to the engineering/mastering as well. The imaging and soundstage draws you into them all. At times I think Karajan goes a bit overboard and lacks the subtlety of other conductors....but hey, as I say, must have been in the mood for it today.

That was a nice afternoon and evening of listening.
