An Objective Review of the Tekton Double Impact Speakers

philbarone
I took the video down in light of the fact that I realized that it might be a setup problem but in the meantime I replaced them with Klipsch Forte 4's and I'm playing those now while the Tektons sit in my garage.

In a couple of weeks when I finish evaluating the Klipsch, I'll setup the Tektons again and, break them in, work on setup and see what happens.

Eric has been paid in full and we're both in a good place.  In retrospect, given how much I spent and my inexperience, I might have reacted too soon and expected too much.

Anyone willing to offer setup suggestions please feel free to PM me.  I understand they have to be far from the wall and I have some space limitations.

Everyone have a great weekend! Phil
i believe all the reviews here represent a trend. nevertheless, if i was richer than dreams of avarice, i'd buy a pair and add it to my menagerie of music makers, a living speaker museum, if you will. i really want to hear how they sound with MY music in MY room, just to know.
For perspective I used to have a high end audio store back in the 90’s and carried speakers ranging from $5k to $30k in 1990’s dollars.

I’m pretty good at setting up a room and tweaking speaker placement.  I downsized my system about a year ago when I got tired of pushing around 180-pound amps, etc.

I bought the Tekton 2-10 Perfect SET because that was the heaviest speaker I could get upstairs.

it took a while to get them in the right place in an irregular room.

IMO they are fabulous, and compare well with some of the best speakers I’ve ever heard.

A snare drum sounds like a snare drum, a Steinway like a Steinway and Rickie Lee Jones and Jim Morrison both sound like themselves.  Dynamics are wonderful.

I can only guess the OP hasn’t got them placed correctly or he has serious flaws in his front end setup.
" MC...Please ,your shilling of Tekton is as obvious as your lack of knowledge of true quality audio speakers..Tekton is junk!No idea why this site allows you and the rest of the clown posse to post such bs."

You could be right but I think I might have a good handle on sound being a musician and an respected instrument maker.  But I'll give you that I lack knowledge of audio gear.  However, THE WAY I JUST SETUP my new Klipsch, it beats them fairly easily by my ear and a few other professional musicians I've had listen to them.  Now, it could have been a setup issue so I'm going to give them another try.

But as for you, dude, name-calling? If you ask me people that do that should be suspended for a bit and give you a little time out.  We're here to help each other.
