@puffball08,

Prior to buying the ORB, I had over 4 years experience with the VinlyFlat in it’s two "pouch" iterations. So I was familiar with the process. My ORB is the DF-O1iA.

It’s important to get the lp as clean as possible first. I place the lp between two pieces of felt that I cut O.D. 11.5" and the spindle hole 1.25". Doing this allows any lp that is thicker around the spindle hole to lay flat and any lp that doesn’t have a flat profile (outer rim) to lay flat as well. The felt I have was purchased with the VinylFlat.

In spite of the directions ( I learned the hard way not to keep it in heat mode for two hours), I always use the unit on the low setting. Always let the cooling cycle go the complete two hours.

All vinyl is not created equal, so there will be a learning curve regarding how long to let the heat cycle go. As a general rule, thin vinyl or colored or clear vinyl, I put in for 60 minutes. If it isn’t enough, you can always try again with additional time based upon how the warp looks. If still warped, increase another 10 minutes.

For heavy vinyl, use the heat cycle at 1 hour and 15 - 20 minutes.

That’s pretty much it. As I said there will be a learning curve. Enjoy!
